 | | | High Purity, fully active, trimeric complex - isloated via affinity chromatography of C-terminal His•TagsŪ
Active recombinant protein complex composed of full length A1, B2, and G1 subunits expressed in Sf9 cells. | |
| | | | AMPK is an important energy-sensing protein kinase that monitors cellular energy status via changes in AMP levels. AMPK is a potential target for Type 2 diabetes drug development. Two current diabetes therapeitics, metformin and the thiazolidinedione, exert some of their effects via activation of AMPK. One of the key phosphorylation targets of AMPK is the mTOR/Raptor complex which regulates protein synthesis in response to changes in nutrient and energy levels. The active complex is useful in the study of kinase activity regulation and inhibitor screening. | | | Specific Activity The activity of AMPK was determined using standard filter binding assay with 200 mg/ml SAMS substrate, 50 mM ATP and 100 mM AMP.
| | | SDS PAGE Analysis | The purity of AMPK was determined to be >95% by densitometry, approx. MW ~68 kDa (A1), ~38 kDa (B1), and ~40 kDa (G1). | | | | | | | | | Related Resources: | | mTOR Interactive Pathway | | | | | |
