Protein : PP2A

SwissProt Accessions | Entrez Gene links

Connectivity 9
Notes The product of this gene encodes a specific phosphotyrosyl phosphatase activator of the dimeric form of protein phosphatase 2A, which is composed of a catalytic subunit and a constant regulatory subunit. Protein phosphatase 2A is one of the four major Ser/Thr phosphatases, and it is implicated in the negative control of cell growth and division. Association of this protein with protein phosphatase 2A heterodimeric core enzyme results in the formation of a specific trimeric holoenzyme. Alternatively spliced variants encoding different isoforms have been identified for this gene.

State regulatory subunit PR 53 of protein phosphatase 2A isoform b
regulatory subunit PR 53 of protein phosphatase 2A isoform a
regulatory subunit PR 53 of protein phosphatase 2A isoform c
regulatory subunit PR 53 of protein phosphatase 2A isoform d

State Description Transcript Variant: This variant (3) differs in the 5' UTR and lacks an in-frame segment of the coding region, compared to variant 1. Variants 2 and 3 encode a shorter isoform (b), also known as isoform alpha, that is missing an internal segment compar...
Transcript Variant: This variant (1) represents the longest transcript. It encodes the longest isoform (a), also known as isoform beta.
Transcript Variant: This variant (4) lacks a segment of the coding region, compared to variant 1. It causes translation initiation at a downstream ATG and an isoform (c), also known as gamma, with a shorter N-terminus, compared to isoform a.
Transcript Variant: This variant (5) lacks an in-frame segment of the coding region, compared to variant 1. It encodes a shorter isoform (d), also known as isoform epsilon, that is missing an internal segment compared to isoform a.
