G 418 Sulfate, Cell Culture Tested

Thousands of current scientific citations specify the use of Calbiochem's G 418 Sulfate selection agent.

The best way to maintain the integrity of your precious clonal cultures that incorporate eukaryotic expression vectors, carrying the bacterial neor/kanr genes, is to use the most efficient selective agents available. To satisfy these requirements, selective agents must be highly potent and highly pure in nature.

High potency ≥730 mg/mg, means lower concentrations are required to maintain selective pressure (around 25% less than lower potency alternatives). This enables selection of healthier colonies that go through the cell cycle faster.

The high purity of our G 418 translates directly to a reduced risk of potentially toxic contaminants that can be present in other formulations of G 418. Purity ≥98% by TLC.

We ensure strict batch to batch consistency of our G 418 so that your results are always optimal. Our G 418 is available in a variety of convenient pack sizes that are cell culture tested and ready to use.

Primary rat Schwann cells were transiently transfected with constructs encoding Xpress-tagged schwannomin N-terimnal variant lacking paxillin binding domain 1, and were maintained in standard medium plus 0.5 mg/ml G418 (Calbiochem). After 48 h, cells were stained with an Oregon green-phalloidin conjugate and with antibodies against Xpress.
