Application Notes
An inducer of ß-D-Galactosidase.
Used in the production of recombinant proteins in
E. coli

Can be used to regulate the expression of
lac
operator/reporter genes that have been stably integrated into a mammalian chromosome.
Recombinant viruses can be constructed such that the expression of specific target genes will be transcriptionally repressed unless IPTG is present.
Non-hydrolyzable, hence its concentration does not change during the experiment.
Used as an inducer of spontaneous lactose-utilizing mutants of
Vibrio vulnificus

Vibrio pelagius
