Cytokines for Erythrocyte Production and Megakaryocyte Differentiation |
Erythropoietin, Human, Recombinant, CHO Cell: Cat. No. 329871 cDNA corresponding to human erythropoietin (EPO) was expressed in and purified from CHO cells. EPO is a glycoprotein produced by the kidneys which is involved in red blood cell production. It has a predicted molecular mass of ~21 kDa but migrates at ~37 kDa on SDS-PAGE. Recombinant EPO has been used clinically in the treatment of renal and other anemias. It is also under investigation as a neuroprotective agent. Specific activity: >1.0 X 105 IU/mg protein. Purity: >98% by SDS-PAGE and HPLC. Contaminants: DNA: <10pg/10 µg protein, endotoxin: <10 EU/10 µg protein. Sialic acid content: <10 moles/mole of protein. CAS 11096-26-7.
 | PLP-E has a synergistic effect on CFU-MK formation. Mouse primary bone-marrow cells were cultured with 10 ng/ml murine IL-3 ± 2 mg/ml GST-PLP-E for 7-10 days. Data kindly provided by Dr. Daniel Linzer of Northwestern University. |
