Cellular Differentiation Regulators

The major sources of hematopoietic stem cells include bone marrow, umbilical cord blood and embryonic stem cells. The hematopoietic stem cells have the ability to renew, differentiate, mobilize out of bone marrow and participate in blood circulation or undergo programmed cell death. They have clinical applications in several diseases such as leukemia and lymphoma as well as hereditary blood disorders such as beta-thalessemia, sickle cell anemia.
