White solid. PACKAGED UNDER INERT GAS. Mucolytic agent and thiol-based antioxidant that has a protective effect against oxygen free radicals in early septic shock. Increases cellular pools of free-radical scavengers. Inhibitor of HIV replication. May serve as a substrate for microsomal glutathione transferase. Induces apoptosis in human and rat smooth muscle cells. Purity: ≥98% by titration. Heavy metals: ≤10 ppm. RTECS HA1660000, CAS 616-91-1.
