Bacillus anthracis LF Protease Substrate II, Colorimetric

Lyophilized. Supplied as a trifluoroacetate salt. PROTECT FROM LIGHT. HYGROSCOPIC. PACKAGED UNDER INERT GAS. An N-acetylated, C-p-nitroanilide (pNA) derivative of a 14-mer peptide substrate designed from the MEK-2 template that is useful for measuring Anthrax lethal factor (LF) metalloproteolytic activity with a detection limit of ~100 pM. The release of pNA is monitored by recording the absorption at ~405 nm (e405 = 9,920 M-1cm-1). Reported to be useful for high-throughput screening of LF inhibitors. Purity: ≥97% by HPLC.
