(E)3-[(4-Methylphenyl)sulfonyl]-2-propenenitrile

Off-white solid. PROTECT FROM LIGHT. PACKAGED UNDER INERT GAS. Potential anti-inflammatory agent that selectively and irreversibly inhibits the TNF-a-inducible phosphorylation of IkBa (IC50 = 10 µM), resulting in a decreased expression of NF-kB and of adhesion molecules. Does not affect constitutive IkBa autophosphorylation. Inhibits TNF-a-induced surface expression of the endothelial-leukocyte cell adhesion molecules E-selectin, VCAM-1, and ICAM-1. Purity: ≥95% by HPLC. CAS 19542-67-7.
