BMP-2A Bone morphogenetic protein 2 precursor Lyophilized. Lyophilized from sterile 10 mM sodium citrate, pH 3.5. Recombinant, human bone morphogenetic protein-2 (BMP-2) expressed in E. coli and purified by proprietary chromatographic methods. BMP-2 is a homodimeric protein that belongs to the transforming growth factor-b (TGF-b) superfamily. BMP-2 is known to regulate diverse fundamental processes during embryonic development. It also plays an important role in cardiac morphogenesis and is expressed in a variety of tissues such as lung, spleen, brain, liver, prostate, ovary, and small intestine. Purity: ≥95% by SDS-PAGE.
