Pale yellow powder. HYGROSCOPIC. Dopamine D₂ receptor agonist that potently and selectively inhibits neuronal NOS (nNOS; IC₅₀ = 10 µM) by affecting the activation of NOS by calmodulin. Has only a weak inhibitory effect on inducible NOS (iNOS; IC₅₀ > 100 µM). Modulates P-glycoprotein function. Inhibits Mg²⁺ ATPase activity (IC₅₀ = 300 nM) and verapamil-induced P-glycoprotein ATPase activity (K_i = 200 nM). Also inhibits prolactin secretion. Purity: ≥98% by TLC.
