3,7-Dihydro-1,3,7-trimethyl-1H-purine-2,6-dione

White solid. Trimethylated xanthine that acts as a potent central nervous system stimulant. At higher doses, produces tachycardia and interferes with the uptake and storage of Ca2+ by the sarcoplasmic reticulum in skeletal muscle. Prevents apoptosis and cell cycle effects induced by Camptothecin (Cat. No. 208925) and topotecan in HL-60 cells. Purity: ≥99% by titration (dry basis). Contaminants: heavy metals: ≤10 ppm. Heavy metals: ≤10 ppm. RTECS EV6475000, CAS 58-08-2.
