Ca2+/Calmodulin CaM Lyophilized. Lyophilized from 150 mM NaCl, 50 mM Tris-HCl, 2 mM EDTA, pH 7.6. A ubiquitous Ca2+-binding protein that serves as a physiological effector of a wide range of biological processes. Calmodulin purified from bovine brain. Specific activity: ≥12,500 units/mg protein. One unit is defined as the amount of calmodulin that gives rise to 50% of the maximal enzyme activation of a standard level of activator-deficient 3′,5′-cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase. Purity: ≥95% by SDS-PAGE. Note: this product cannot be used for animal treatment, in vivo research, or any contact procedure with livestock. CAS 73298-54-1. Note: 1 KU = 1000 units.
