Ca2+/Calmodulin CaM Lyophilized. Lyophilized from 1.7 mM HEPES, 30 µM CaCl2, pH 7.0. A ubiquitous Ca2+-binding protein that serves as a physiological effector of a wide range of biological processes. Calmodulin highly purified from bovine brain. Specific activity: ≥13,000 units/mg protein. One unit is defined as the amount of calmodulin that gives rise to 50% of the maximal enzyme activation of a standard level of activator-deficient 3′,5′-cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase. Protein concentration determined by absorbance at 280 nm. A280 of 1 mg/ml solution = 0.2. Purity: ≥99% by SDS-PAGE. Note: this product cannot be used for animal treatment, in vivo research, or any contact procedure with livestock. Sold on the basis of peptide content. CAS 73298-54-1.
