CaM Kinase II

Liquid. In 100 mM NaCl, 50 mM HEPES, 1 mM DTT, 0.1 mM EDTA, 50% glycerol, 0.02% Tween® 20 Detergent, pH 7.5. AVOID FREEZE/THAW CYCLES. Recombinant, rat Ca2+/calmodulin kinase II a-subunit consisting of amino acids 1-325 (corresponding to monomeric a-subunit) expressed in S. frugiperda insect cells. Reportedly involved in the modulation of neurite outgrowth by cAMP. Lower levels of CaM kinase II a-subunit predispose neurons to ischemic damage. Activity: ≥250,000 units/ml. One unit is defined as the amount of enzyme that will catalyze the transfer of 1 pmol phosphate to Autocamtide-2 (Cat. No. 189475), KKALRRQETVDAL, per min at 30°C, pH 7.5. Purity: ≥90% by SDS-PAGE. Contaminants: Phosphatases, proteases: none detected.
