m-Calpain

Liquid. In 100 mM NaCl, 50 mM Tris-HCl, 5 mM EDTA, 5 mM b-mercaptoethanol, 40% glycerol, pH 7.8. AVOID FREEZE/THAW CYCLES. Recombinant, rat calpain-2 expressed in E. coli. Ca2+-dependent heterodimeric cysteine proteinase with high Ca2+ requirement (EC50 = 350 µM Ca2+). Supplied as highly purified preparation. Specific activity: ≥1500 units/mg protein. One unit is defined as the amount of enzyme that hydrolyzes 1 pmol. Suc-leu-Leu0Val-Tyr-AMC in 1 min at 25°C using the Calpain Activity Assay Kit, Fluorometric (Cat. No. QIA120). Note: 1 caseinolytic unit = 0.8 fluorogenic units. Purity: ≥98% by SDS-PAGE. EC 3.4.22.17.
