Caffeic Acid Phenethyl Ester, Synthetic

White to off-white solid. PROTECT FROM LIGHT. PACKAGED UNDER INERT GAS. A cell-permeable active component of propolis from honeybee hives. Known to have antiviral, anti-inflammatory, and immunomodulatory properties. Has also recently been shown to act as a potent and specific inhibitor of NF-kB activation. An inhibitor of HIV-1 integrase activity. Inhibits the growth of different types of transformed cells. Has been reported to suppress lipid peroxidation. Inhibits ornithine decarboxylase, protein tyrosine kinase (PTK), and lipoxygenase activities. Also induces apoptosis in cloned rat embryo fibroblast (CREF) cells transformed by a number of different oncogenes. Purity: ≥97% by HPLC. CAS 104594-70-9.
