Lyophilized solid. A cytolytic toxin that causes depolarization of skeletal muscle fibers in vitro. Stimulates Ca2+ transport and ATP hydrolysis by the sarcolemmal Ca2+/Mg2+-ATPase. Its action is strongly potentiated by phospholipase A2. Inhibits protein kinase C (IC50 = 1.8 µM). Purity: ≥95% by IEF. Contaminants: phospholipase A2 activity: <2%. RTECS FH7482450.
