GR Liquid. In 100 mM KCl, 20 mM Tris-HCl, 1 mM DTT, 0.2 mM EDTA, 20% glycerol, pH 8.0. AVOID FREEZE/THAW CYCLES. Recombinant, human glucocorticoid recepector fused to a His•Tag® sequence and expressed in S. frugiperda insect cells. A ligand-activated intracellular transcriptional regulator that belongs to the nuclear receptor superfamily. GR is the mediator of glucocorticoid action that regulates the metabolism and suppresses the immune/inflammatory responses, regulates cardiovascular function, and affects basal and stress-related homeostasis. GR interacts with many transcription factors such as c-jun, NF-kB, the TFIID complex, STAT5, as well as a host of coactivators where they are known to act on the function of these signaling molecules. GR also mediates the action of numerous cytosolic proteins including chaperones, kinases, phosphatases, nuclear shuttling proteins and proteasomes. Biological activity: 20 units are sufficient for gel mobility shift assays; 100 units are sufficient for protein-protein interaction assays.. 1 unit is equivalent to 1 ng protein. Purity: ≥95% by SDS-PAGE. Ref.: Yudt, M.R., and Cidlowski, J.A. 2002. Mol. Endocrinol. 16, 1719. Yudt, M.R., and Cidlowski, J.A. 2001. Mol. Endocrinol. 15, 1093. Beato, M., et al. 1995. Cell 83, 851.
