White solid. Anticoagulant. Inhibits the IP₃-activated Ca²⁺ channel release of the endoplasmic reticulum. Reported to activate the ryanodine receptor. Totally prevents adenophostin-induced release of Ca²⁺from cerebellar and intracellular stores. Note: 1 KU = 1000 units. Activity: ≥140 USP units/mg dry weight. RTECS MI0850000, CAS 9041-08-1.
