HDAC9, Human, Recombinant Liquid. In 138 mM NaCl, 25 mM Tris-HCl, 10% glycerol, 0.05% TWEEN®-20 detergent, pH 8.0. AVOID FREEZE/THAW CYCLES. Recombinant, human histone deacetylase 9 (HDAC9) consisting of amino acids 604-1066 fused at the C-terminus to a His•Tag® sequence and expressed in S. frugiperda insect cells using a baculovirus expression system. HDAC9 associates with MEF2 proteins, suppresses their transcriptional activity, and forms a negative-feedback loop in the transcriptional circuitry of muscle differentiation. The active deacetylase is useful in the study of HDAC9 regulation and for inhibitor screening. Specific activity: ≥0.5 unit/µg protein. One unit is defined as the amount of enzyme required to deacetylate 1 picomole fluorescent peptide substrate [Arg-His-Lys-Lys(Ac)] per min at 30°C. Purity: ≥95% by SDS-PAGE. Ref.: Han, et al. 2005.
