Lyophilized. Native hyaluronidase from bovine testes. Hyaluronic acid degrading endoglycosidase that catalyzes the hydrolysis of 1,4 linkages between N-acetylhexosamine and D-glucuronate residues in chondroitin, chondroitin-4-sulfate, chondroitin-6-sulfate, and hyaluronic acid. Activity: ≥2500 units/mg dry weight. One unit is defined as the amount of enzyme that will cause the same turbidity reduction as 1.0 unit of International Standard preparation. EC 3.2.1.35, CAS 37326-33-3. Note: 1 KU = 1000 units. Merck Index: 14, 4758 Ref.: Lokeshwar, V.B., et al. 2002. J. Biol. Chem. 277, 33654. Humphrey, I.H. 1957. Bull. WHO 16, 291. |
