Lyophilized. Native hyaluronidase from Streptomyces hyaluronlyticus nov. species. Catalyzes the degradation of hyaluronic acid. Produces d4,5-unsaturated tetra- and hexasaccharides. Activity: ≥ 100 TRU (Turbidity Reducing Units)/ampule. Specific activity: ≥2000 U/A280. One TRU (Turbidity Reducing Unit) is defined as the amount of enzyme that will hydrolyze 50% of hyaluronic acid, determined by a 50% reduction in turbidity, in 30 min at 60°C pH 6.0. Contaminants: Protease: ≤ 0.05 units/ampule (pH 6.0). EC 3.2.1.35, CAS 37326-33-3. Merck Index: 14, 4758 Ref.: Baker, J.R., et al. 2002. Biochem. J. 365, 317. Mogelerskii, M.S. 1964. Fed.
