Insulysin

Liquid. In 100 mM potassium phosphate buffer, 20% glycerol, pH 7.3. Recombinant, rat insulin degrading enzyme fused to a His•Tag® sequence and expressed in S. frugiperda insect cells. A metalloprotease that degrades insulin and a variety of other peptides including amyloid peptides. Specific activity: ≥3 U/mg protein. One unit is defined as the amount of the enzyme that will catalyze the hydrolysis of 1 µmol iodinated insulin per h at 37°C, pH 7.3. Purity: ≥90% by SDS-PAGE. EC 3.4.24.56.
