Lyophilized. Lyophilized from sterile-filtered PBS, 50 µg BSA/µg IL-4. Recombinant, mouse interleukin-4 expressed in E. coli. Induces the differentiation of CD4+ T cells into T-helper-2 like cells. Exhibits anti-neoplastic and anti-inflammatory properties. Overproduction of IL-4 is linked to osteoporosis in murine models. Induces MAP-kinase activation and Shc phosphorylation in keratinocytes.
