rhMIP-1a Lyophilized. Lyophilized from a sterile-filtered solution in 35% acetonitrile, 0.1% TFA, 50 µg BSA/µg MIP-1a. Recombinant, human macrophage inflammatory protein-1a expressed in E. coli. A low molecular weight chemokine involved in inflammation, hematopoiesis, and immunoregulation. Exhibits chemoattractant activity on monocytes and chemoattractant and proadhesive effects on lymphocytes. Inhibits primitive hematopoietic stem cell proliferation. Also active in murine cells. Biological activity: ED50 = 2.0-10.0 ng/ml as measured by its ability to inhibit mouse hematopoietic stem cell proliferation in an in vitro colony assay that detects primitive cells. Purity: ≥97% by SDS-PAGE. Contaminants: Endotoxin: ≤1.0 EU/µg MIP-1a. Ref.: Hunter, M.G., et al. 1995. Blood 86, 4400. Nirsimloo, N., and Gordon, M.Y. 1995. Leuk. Res. 19, 319.
