rhMIP-1b Lyophilized. Lyophilized from sterile-filtered 30% acetonitrile, 0.1% TFA, 50 µg BSA/µg MIP-1b. Recombinant, human macrophage inflammatory protein-1b expressed in S. frugiperda insect cells. A low molecular weight chemokine involved in inflammation, hematopoiesis, and immunoregulation. Exhibits chemoattractant activity on monocytes and chemoattractant and proadhesive effects on lymphocytes. Biological activity: ED50 = 40-60 ng/ml as measured by its ability to inhibit mouse hematopoietic stem cell proliferation in an in vitro colony assay that detects primitive cells. Purity: ≥97% by SDS-PAGE. Contaminants: Endotoxin: ≤100 pg/µg MIP-1b. Ref.: Taub, D.D., et al. 1993. Science 260, 355. Napolitano, M., et al. 1991. J. Biol. Chem. 266, 17531.
