Nuclear Inhibitor of Protein Phosphatase-1 Liquid. In 500 mM NaCl, 20 mM Tris, 500 µM benzamidine, 500 µM PMSF, 5 µM leupeptin, pH 7.5. AVOID FREEZE/THAW CYCLES. Recombinant, bovine NIPP-1 fused to a His•Tag® sequence and expressed in E. coli. Potent and specific inhibitor of protein phosphatase 1 (PP1; Ki = 1-10 pM) that can be used to distinguish PP1 from other major serine/threonine protein phosphatases including PP2A, PP2B, and PP2C. Also an ideal substrate for protein kinase A and casein kinase II. Thought to be involved in the targeting of PP1 to RNA-associated substrates and may also be involved in the dephosphorylation of transcription factors like CREB and the tumor suppressor Rb. Purity: ≥90% by SDS-PAGE. Ref.: Beullens, M., et al. 1999. J. Biol. Chem. 274, 14053. Jagiello, I., et al. 1997. J. Biol. Chem. 272, 22067. Jagiello, I., et al. 1995. J. Biol. Chem. 270, 17257.
