Endothelial Nitric Oxide Synthase eNOS NOS III Liquid. In 50 mM HEPES, 5 mM CHAPS, 100 µM DTT, 10% glycerol, pH 7.4. AVOID FREEZE/THAW CYCLES. Recombinant bovine endothelial NOS expressed in S. frugiperda insect cells using a baculovirus expression system. eNOS undergoes several post-translational modifications, including myristoylation and palmitoylation, which causes the enzyme to become membrane-associated. Specific activity: ~2 units/mg protein. One unit is defined as the amount of enzyme that will produce 1 nmol of nitric oxide per min at 37°C in a solution containing 50 mM HEPES, 5 µM oxyhemoglobin, 1 mM CaCl2, 20 µl calmodulin, 0.1 mM NADPH, 50 µM arginine, 12 µM tetrahydrobiopterin, and 170 µM DTT, pH 7.5.
