3,7-Dihydro-3,7-dimethyl-1-(5-oxohexyl)-1H-purine-2,6-dione
PTX White crystalline solid. A non-selective phosphodiesterase inhibitor. Inhibits endotoxin-induced synthesis of tumor necrosis factor-a (TNF-a). PTX inhibits the adhesion of T cells to the b1 and b2 integrin ligands VCAM-1 and ICAM-1. Also prevents the down-regulation of microsomal cytochrome P450 caused by lipopolysaccharides.
