A cell-permeable tetrahydro-b-carboline-hydantoin compound that acts as a potent and highly selective phosphodiesterase V inhibitor (IC50 = 5 nM for bovine aorta PDE V; IC50 > 10 µM for human recombinant PDE I & III, and for bovine aorta PDE II & IV]. Shown to increase intracellular cGMP levels in ANF-treated RSMC (EC50 = 1 µM) and significantly lower blood pressure in a spontaneously hypertensive rat model in vivo. Purity: ≥97% by HPLC.
