Liquid. In 150 mM NaCl, 50 mM Tris-HCl, 0.25 mM DTT, 0.1 mM EDTA, 0.1 mM EGTA, 0.1 mM PMSF, 25% glycerol, pH 7.5. AVOID FREEZE/THAW CYCLES. Human, recombinant SGK1 (accession number = NM_005627) (amino acids 61-431) fused at the N-terminus to GST and expressed in S. frugiperda insect cells using a baculovirus expression system. SGK1 belongs to a family of serine/threonine protein kinases and plays a key role in cell survival. Specific activity: ≥ 55 nmol/min/mg protein. Kinase activity is measured as the molar amount of phosphate incorporated into Akt/SGK substrate using a concentration of 50 µM ATP (0.83 µCi/assay), 30°C. Purity: ≥95% by SDS-PAGE.
