Protein Phosphatase 2A₁

Liquid. In 50 mM Tris-HCl, 14 mM b-ME, 1 mM benzamidine, 1 mM EDTA, 100 µM PMSF, 50% glycerol, pH 7.0. Native, PP2A₁ from bovine kidney. A divalent cation-independent protein serine/threonine phosphatase involved in the control of numerous cellular processes. Has a catalytic subunit of 36 kDa, a subunit of 55 kDa, and a regulatory subunit of 60 kDa. Reported to associate with microtubules and to bind to purified tubulin polymerized by TAXOL^® Drug. Specific activity: ≥750 units/mg protein. One unit is defined as the amount of enzyme that will release 1.0 nmol of [³²P]P_i from ³²P-labeled phosphorylase per min at 30°C, pH 7.0. Purity: ≥90% by SDS-PAGE. EC 3.1.3.16.
