Protein Kinase C

Liquid. 150 mM NaCl, 50 mM Tris-HCl, 0.25 mM DTT, 0.1 mM EDTA, 0.1 mM EGTA, 0.1 mM PMSF, 25% glycerol, pH 7.5. AVOID FREEZE/THAW CYCLES. Full-length, recombinant, human PKCi (accession number = NM_002740) fused at the N-terminus to GST and expressed in S. frugiperda insect cells using a baculovirus expression system. PKCi is a member of the protein kinase C family that plays an important role in neuralonal cell apoptosis and neuronal degeneration in Alzheimer's disease. Specific activity: ≥565 nmol/min/mg protein. Kinase activity is measured as the molar amount of phosphate incorporated into CREBtide using a concentration of 50 µM ATP (0.83 µCi/assay), 30°C. Purity: ≥90% by SDS-PAGE.
