Red-brown solid. Membrane-permeable fluorescent dye for selectively staining mitochondria in living cells. T lymphocyte populations of various ages can be differentiated on the basis of their affinity for this dye. Widely used for assessing mitochondrial membrane potential. Can be used to measure the efflux activity of P-glycoprotein in drug-resistant phenotypes in cancer cells. Purity: ≥98% by UV. Excitation max.: ~510 nm, Emission max.: ~534 nm RTECS ZE0883000, CAS 62669-70-9.
