Liquid. In 75 mM NaCl, 27 mM MES, 2.5 mM MgCl₂, 500 µM b-mercaptoethanol, 50% glycerol, pH 6.0. AVOID FREEZE/THAW CYCLES. Soluble, recombinant, rat liver a2,3-(N)-sialyltransferase expressed in S. frugiperda insect cells. Specific for Galb1,3- and Galb1,4GlcNAc. Specific activity: ≥1 unit/mg protein. One unit is defined as the amount of enzyme that will transfer 1 µmol sialic acid from CMP-sialic acid to N-acetyllactosamine per min at 37°C, pH 7.4. (1 mU = 1 milliunit) EC 2.4.99.6. Note: 1 mU = 1 milliunit.
