A tetrapeptide that acts as a natural inhibitor of pluripotent hematopoietic stem cell proliferation. Protects bone marrow against chemotherapeutic agents, ionizing radiations, hyperthermy, or phototherapy-induced toxicity. Inhibits cardiac fibroblast proliferation, collagen synthesis, and activation of p42/p44 MAP kinases. Cleaved to an inactive form by angiotensin I-converting enzyme (ACE). Purity: ≥97% by HPLC.
