Off-white solid. PROTECT FROM LIGHT. PROTECT FROM MOISTURE. Intracellular Ca²⁺ antagonist that blocks the release of Ca²⁺ from intracellular stores. Used to distinguish dependence on intracellular versus extracellular Ca²⁺. Reduces skeletal muscle contractility by diminishing transmembrane Ca²⁺ movement and postsynaptic acetylcholine receptor sensitivity. Also acts as a muscarinic receptor antagonist in epithelial cell line HT29 and a non-competitive, functional antagonist of nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (IC₅₀ = 500 nM). Inhibits platelet-activating factor and phorbol myristate acetate-stimulated prostaglandin synthesis in Kupffer cells. Inhibits the activation of NF-kB. Purity: ≥95% by titration. CAS 53464-72-5.
