Transforming Growth Factor-a

Lyophilized. Lyophilized from 30% acetonitrile, 0.1% TFA. Recombinant, human transforming growth factor-a expressed in E. coli. Plays an important role in cell-cell adhesion and cell growth and differentiation. Reported to play a role in the development of hormonal insensitivity in estrogen-receptor-positive breast cancers. Biological activity: ED₅₀ = 0.1-0.4 ng/ml as measured by the ability to stimulate ³H-thymidine incorporation in the mouse fibroblast cell line Balb/3T3. Purity: ≥97% by SDS-PAGE.
