S-Protein
Serum Spreading Factor

Lyophilized. Native vitronectin purified from human plasma. Extracellular matrix protein that promotes cell adhesion. Exists as a mixture of 75 kDa and 65 kDa polypeptides. Biochemically and immunologically distinct from fibronectin. Binds to cells through the RGD sequence in its cell-binding domain. Purity: ≥95% by SDS-PAGE. Intact protein and SDS-PAGE bands react with monoclonal antibodies to vitronectin, bind to heparin, and promote cell adhesion. Prepared from plasma of individuals that have been shown by certified tests to be negative for HBsAg and for antibodies to HIV and HCV. CAS 83380-82-9. M.W. 65,000 and 75,000.
