MagPrep® Anti-Ig Beads are superparamagnetic particles coated with pure anti-mouse, anti-rabbit, or anti-human IgG or IgM. The beads consist of a magnetite core encapsulated by a polystyrene shell to which the anti-immunoglobulins are bound. In this form, the magnetite iron oxide is not exposed to the medium, preventing leaching or unwanted binding effects. The 1 mm average diameter of the beads provides a large surface area for high capacity, yet they respond rapidly to magnetic sources, such as the Magnetight™ Separation Stand or Multitube Rack, for efficient separations. The beads enable powerful and specific purification of antibodies and immune complexes and are compatible with automation for high-throughput applications. One milliliter (10 mg) of the particle suspension will bind approximately 3 µg of an appropriate immunoglobulin fraction. The beads are provided as ready-to-use reagents, and packaged at 1% solids. |
