Full-length, recombinant human decorin (343 amino acids) expressed in S. frugiperda insect cells using a baculovirus expression system. A leucine-rich proteoglycan that acts as an antagonist of EGF receptor tyrosine kinase. Reported to suppress the growth of various tumor cell lines by acting as an antagonist of the epidermal growth factor receptor. Also reported to suppress tumor-mediated angiogenesis. Biological activity: Measured by its ability to modulate collagen fibrillogenesis; ~5 µg/ml will significantly delay the rate of collagen type I fibrillogenesis.. Purity: ≥95% by SDS-PAGE.
