Comments: Hsp27 over-expression has been reported to be a negative regulator of apoptosis. Elevated levels of Hsp27 may be associated with aggressive growth and cell invasion, which often results in poor prognosis in breast, ovarian, and prostatic carcinomas. In neuronal cells, Hsp27 over-expression promotes survival following growth factor withdrawal or other stress.
