Format: 96-well plate
Form: 96 Tests
Detection Method: Colorimetric
Species Reactivity: human
Sensitivity: 10 U/ml
Assay Range: 15-1000 U/ml
Unit Definition: One unit (U) is defined as the amount of NMP 41/7 released by 850 MCF7 cells maintained at a density of 1 - 5 x 105 cells/ml in serum-free medium for 7 days.
Assay Time: 4 h
Sample Type: Tissue culture supernatant
Kit Contents: Coated 96-Well Removable Strip Plate, Lyophilized NMP Standard, NMP Detector Antibody, Anti-FITC-POD, Substrate, ELISA Conjugant Diluent, 20X Plate Wash Concentrate, Stop Solution, Plate Sealer, and a user protocol.
Comments: Designed for the quantitative detection of NMP41/7. The specific detection of soluble human NMPs afforded by the Cell Death Detection (Nuclear Matrix Protein) ELISA allows quantitation of cell death.

Graph 1. The measurement of soluble nuclear matrix protein (NMP) released into cell culture supernatants was used to quantify apoptotic cell death induced during neutrophil-like HL-60 differentiation. Treatment of proliferating HL-60 cells with 1 mmol/l retinoic acid (RA) resulted in a decrease in bcl-2 levels over time and a corresponding increase in free nucleosomes. The NMP realased by dead and dying cells into the supernatant was quantified by the NMP ELISA (Cat. No. QIA20). Nucleasome concentrations and bcl-2 levels were measured using Cat. Nos. QIA25 and QIA23, respectively. NMP and nucleosome results were normalized to the maximum response (Rmax).
